Next Generation BMW 5-Series Spotted with Audi-Like New Interior

This fresh batch of clandestine photographs shows BMW?s next-generation 5-series sedan in full test-mule regalia. Though the heavy body cladding keeps us from getting the full idea of what the new car will look like from the outside, we do have a better idea of what the Five will look like in the cabin thanks to a few clear shots of the interior.

While it?s clear that the i-Drive system isn?t going away anytime soon, the updated version of BMW?s interface is getting a major work-over. The i-Drive system now finds itself positioned to the side of the ?joystick? style gearlever, and is surrounded by function buttons much like Audi?s vaunted MMI user interface. The 5-series steering wheel has also gotten an Audi-esque makeover with more functionality and scroll wheels. We?re also told to expect Keyless Go, active suspensions, an updated night vision system, HUD, and a bigger navigation screen.

Have a look at the new 5-series interior (and exterior) in our gallery above or scroll down to read the spy shooters own words.

Next Gen BMW 5 series spotted, the inside story.

We have spotted the next generation BMW 5 series, and this time we also have the first inside shots to show you. Even if there is an amount of disguise we can make out some new details. The i-Drive controller has a new place next to the joystick gear changer, the i-Drive has also got an update and will now be much easier to use. Just like Audi there are now some buttons around the controller.  We can also see the button for the new electronic parking brake. Steering wheel is totally new as well as the buttons and scroll wheels on it, again Audi look-a-like. The shape of the dashboard is also brand new, the two bulbs are just fake, the real deal is more like, and well you guessed it, like the Audis. Keyless Go, active suspension, improved night vision, head-up display and a bigger sat nav screen are also gizmos that we will find in the new 5er.

The outside is still hard to recognize, because of all that plastic around the body, but at least we can now see the size of the typical kidneys. The new 5 series will be available as Sedan, Touring (Station wagon) and Fastback even if the fastback will have its own name (Still goes under the work name PAS) and ride slightly higher. Four-wheel-drive as an option will be available for all three versions
